Rascal has a chance for rescue, but tested positive for heart worms. Please donate so that he can receive treatment & start a new life!
Rascal is the face of love. He is the face of determination, spirit, and
strength. He is also one of the lucky ones, because he has the
opportunity to get a second chance.
Rascal's life thus far
has been battered, broken, and disheartening. His story is one that you
read in the headlines that make most people turn away, unable to read
the articles that make them question their fellow man-kind, and his
ability to compassionately care about other living, defenseless beings.
Rascal's life was not
one of love, enrichment, or even adequacy. He lived his life in an
outdoor pen, riddled with filth, feces, and urine. His care level had
diminished to almost nothing, and then completely vanished when his
owners moved, and left him behind without a second thought as to what
would happen to the little dog.
He watched from behind
the same caged walls he'd spent his life prisoner, as they drove away,
never looking back at him.
He knew he'd been abandoned.
From that day on,
Rascal spent his days and nights whimpering, crying out, and begging for
help. Concerned neighbors heard his pleas and called local animal
control officers to take in the dog. Upon response, he was seized and
taken to the nearby animal shelter, where his fate was completely
uncertain. Again, Rascal looked out through caged walls, confined as if
he were a prisoner- though he had committed no crime.
To make a somber story
more upsetting, it was determined that Rascal is heartworm positive.
Heartworm disease is a serious, life threatening disease which is almost
certainly a death sentence for animals that contract it while in
shelter settings due to its extremely expensive, and extensive
treatments.
Rascal is fortunate,
despite his broken past, because he has the opportunity to be saved. If
funds can be raised to aid in Rascal's heartworm treatment, Mobile Mutts
Rescue will take him in, and ultimately, save his life. Rascal is
ensured a bright future if he can undergo the treatment he so
desperately needs. Rascal never has to look out of caged walls again.
Please help us save
Rascal. No amount is too small. Be a part of Rascal's new future- be a
part of saving his life, and donate today.
