About this campaign

These t-shirts were thought up and designed by Augustana College students as a way to raise awareness and money for the Susan G. Komen South Dakota Chapter.

Sarah Svenningsen and Martha Nesheim were diagnosed with breast cancer near the beginning of classes at Augustana College in 2014. They are the wives of two of the choir directors in the music department, Russell Svenningsen and Paul Nesheim. Their families quickly became the families of the students. From giving constant updates to singing at the Nesheim's home after our infamous Vespers concert, the support was overwhelming. Unfortunately, Martha passed away in January. Sarah has finished chemotherapy and a double mastectomy and is on her way to remission! As a remembrance for her and support for Sarah, these shirts were designed to not only celebrate music but also to raise money for the Susan B. Komen South Dakota Chapter that raises money for breast cancer research. Please consider buying a t-shirt! God bless!

In memory of Martha, in honor of Sarah, and in hope that my own daughter (Ali '16) will never have to fight this disease. Thank you Augie Choir for championing this cause to work towards a cure!
