The Faces of Many, Representing One Cause

The Real Faces of Childhood Cancer was created to honor the pediatric cancer community. In March of 2015, The Max Cure Foundation asked families to share pictures of their brave warriors who have been diagnosed with cancer. The goal was to create a stunning image that would drive awareness and raise funds for much needed research.  The mosaic printed on this t-shirt includes over 850 pictures of children who have faced a cancer diagnoses.

The proceeds from t-shirt sales will support research for less-toxic treatments for our children.

There are more than 15,780 children diagnosed with cancer every year in the United States. With 16 types and over 100 sub-types, childhood cancer takes over seven children every day and is the leading cause of disease related death among children.

For those of who are lucky to survive, at least 1/3 are stricken by long-term chronic side effects caused by the harsh treatments used to treat the disease.

Those facts are tragic but yet childhood cancer is the most underfunded of all cancer research. Therefore, it is up to the community and organizations like The Max Cure Foundation, to make a difference and find answers for our children.

This mosaic includes over 850 pictures of children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Some of these brave warriors have won their battle, some are still fighting, and some have been lost to this world, all of who deserve to be honored; for themselves and for the thousands of children who will be diagnosed.

Proceeds from the sale of these posters will go towards advancing research and creating less-toxic treatments for our children.

The Max Cure Foundation funds a lab at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The cell therapy lab is dedicated to the alternative treatments and researching the cancers in children and young adults.

“Immune cell therapies are an exciting area of research that holds great promise for future progress in developing more precise, less toxic treatments for children and adolescents with cancer. With the support of the Max Cure Foundation, the establishment of a Cell Therapy Lab will be a crucial step in advancing the discovery and translation of new knowledge into novel gene and cell-based therapies that are more effective in fighting pediatric cancers.”

–Dr. Richard O’Reilly Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
