About this campaign
The International Hotel Manilatown Center needs your help! We're raising funds for our community programming: live music, dance instruction and poetry at Club Mandalay, our Klick on a Brickcreative writing program, the MANGO Hiking Club, and the Manilatown Memorial CyberCafe. Your donation of $25 will help us keep all of these programs FREE and accessible to the general public.
The Manil town Heritage Founda ion was ounded in 1994 to prese ve the legacy of the hi toric Manilatown di trict of San Francisco and to preserve the legacy of the 1977 International Hotel Eviction. It currently produces family-friendly, working-class affordable and community-sustaining educational programs in the areas of Arts & Culture, Historic Manilatown History & Legacy, Health & Wellness and Affordable Housing Advocacy. MHF's home base is the I-Hotel Manilatown Center, located at the site of the original International Hotel: 868 Kearny Street, San Francisco, California.
Originally used in the 1970s as a symbol of community solidarity around the I-Hotel Eviction Protests, the Tiger Logo is an iconic symbol for the I-Hotel community. The yellow and red T-shirt being featured this summer matches the Tiger Logo textile used during the 1977 protests and which continues to be displayed at the I-Hotel Center as one of our beloved artifacts.
With the August 4th Eviction Commemoration just weeks away and with 2015 being the 10-year anniversary of our new International Hotel, this shirt would be a great way to show your continued support for Affordable Housing and Tenants Rights.

As we move faster into the 21st century, progress, modernization, gentrification is inevitable. Big cities like SF & its people will change, transform itself, yet, we, as a people of many, must never forge OUR stories of history, struggle, activism.
The I-Hotel and its programs are important for all the people of San Francisco.
I have been following this campaign for many years now. Since the early 70's.
Learning about the I-Hotel as a college student was one of the most poignant experiences I had on my journey of becoming an activist. I'm glad that MHF continues its work to inspire people to know history and work for a better community.
