About this campaign

For 15 years Operation Migration(OM) used aircraft to guide endangered Whooping cranes on a migration route leading to survival of the species. Now that the aircraft-guided crane migrations have ended, here's your chance to support Operation Migration going forward.

Operation Migration from Audubon.org

Take a look back at Operation Migration, the program that taught captive-reared Whooping Cranes to migrate in the wild.

OM remains committed to safeguarding Whooping cranes and we will continue working with the Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership on new reintroduction methods for the Eastern Migratory Population.

While we would like to celebrate our past work with this commemorative T-shirt, we look forward to working to attain a self-sustaining flock, which continues to migrate between Wisconsin and the southeast states.

I have supported OM for many years and check in each morning. Witnessed one memorable flyover in La Salle Co, IL . Have a whooping crane carved on my tombstone! Am sad the migrations are over, but will follow future developments.

Keeping these amazing birds in our environment is a labor of love, but one that doesn't come cheap. Thanks for all you do, OM!

As a teacher, my students and I followed each migration closely. We are so grateful for the on-line access to the phenomenal work that the Operation Migration Staff has done for 15 . It allowed us to share the passion and the joy.

This is a magnificent species. It is heartwarming to see members of the human species promoting the crane's longevity.

I would like the $100 donation to go to purchase mile markers, preferably in Maryland, but if that state is not available then please email me for the options.

Living close to the ultra light training area in Princeton, WI has been a thrill. Whooping Crane preservation in the wild is a cause dear to my heart.

The Whooping Crane is my "spark bird" - the bird that got me interested in birding back in 1975 when I first saw this bird at Aransas Wildlife Refuge in Texas.
