This booster invites you join Team Piper! In joining the team, you'll help support the growth of Natural Horsemanship in the Competition world. Amy Bowers has made it a goal to put her principles to purpose with her horse, Piper, in Eventing and has a dream to take it all the way to the top. You might be asking yourself, "why now?". Amy and Piper have qualified for the Intermediate Level which means more travel since Colorado only offers 2 events at this level. She'll be traveling to Florida, Texas, California, and Montana. My name is Amy Bowers and I've loved horses all my life. When I was 7 years old my family owned a pony named Frosty. She was a gift for me and my 4 siblings- I was the only one who wanted to ride her. We jumped everything we could: hay bales, lawn chairs, the beam my dad built for my sister's gymnastics- basically anything and everything we could find. I fell in love with flying.
My uncle is Pat Parelli, founder of Parelli Natural Horsemanship. At the age of 9 I started traveling to his ranch in Colorado to spend summers with him. By the age of 17 I started working for him full time. The idea of putting the horse first and understanding how they think, act, feel and play is now a part of me and is a component of everything I do with horses.
During my time learning with Pat and Linda, many fabulous horsemen and women came to the ranch to share their knowledge. I had the opportunity to study with Luis Lucio, Walter Zettl, Steve Bowers, Karen and David O'Connor to name a few.
I started dreaming of competing in eventing when I was 12 and watched David O'Connor win gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. I was hooked. A couple years later David and Karen O'Connor joined Pat and Linda Parelli at their ranch in Colorado to learn more about Natural Horsemanship and to share their expertise as well. I was fortunate to learn with both of them during that trip.
In 2015 I participated in 2 clinics with Karen O'Connor. I loved every minute of it! During one of the clinics, she invited me to study with her in Florida. I jumped at the chance and in January of 2016 spent 8 weeks with Karen and David at their farm in Ocala, Florida.
I am passionate about putting my natural horsemanship principles to purpose and have dreams of taking it all the way to the top. I have a pathway laid out to get me there in the years ahead, knowing that Piper plays a large roll in that timeline. Her health and continued enjoyment for the sport are determining factors of how far we go. She's loving it so far and 2017 is shaping up to be a fun new challenge as we hope to compete at the Intermediate Level (5th of 6 national levels in eventing).

I have watched from afar, Amy riding on RFD-TVwith the Parellis, and have so admired both her riding ability and her wonderful way with horses. God only knows that the riding in 3day eventing needs some natural horsemanship badly. You go, Amy!

I rode in a clinic with Amy several years ago. I've watched her journey on Facebook, at tour stops, the Summit and in Ocala. She is the real deal and I know she is one of the people who really are making the world a better place for horse and humans.
The equine world is a better place with people like Amy. I feel very fortunate to have this young lady, with such a gentle connection with horses help me with my horse project. I am proud to support Amy in her goals & dreams.
