A time when geography does not determine your quality of life and when you tell some one you have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, you are not asked what that is.

It took me nearly 50 years to get a diagnosis. The medical community needs to be made more aware of this disease.
I was finally dx with EDS this year, at age 46, after many years of declining health and no answers, nor any doctors trying to help get to the bottom of what was going on. It was through my own research and perseverance of finding doctors to get dx.
My mother and I were both diagnosed with EDS type 3 very recently. Along with all the extra things that come with it. I hope that with enough awareness and research, someday we can figure out how to cure this.
In honor of Amanda Hartzell, a very special mother with EDS. She experiences so much pain everyday but remains strong for her family, who loves her very much.
If anything helps and more people are aware maybe some of the pain will go away SR
