I met my future wife at the Phase. We shared our first kiss at the Phase. It will always remain a place of significance in our relationship.
Mphase 1 is where I found myself. It's where I performed for the very first time. It's where I found my "voice." So much love came from and happened inside that place. I fee like a trans man without a home now. I miss the D.C. Kings and Phase 1.
I wouldn't have the friends and the DJ career I have now if it wasn't for Phase 1 being a place that accepted everyone and provided a practice ground for many artists of many art forms in our community. It was the place to be since 1970!
