About this campaign

DIPG is the deadliest form of childhood cancer, and we created these shirts to help educate people about this devastating disease and honor our childhood cancer heroes. This year, we are featuring yellow/gold shirts (the color for childhood cancer awareness) along with gray shirts (brain tumor awareness).

These shirts include over 350 kids who are fighting or have fought DIPG. It is a true honor to include them, and we draw inspiration every day from their strength and bravery. We will reopen the form for name submission in July 2018 for our 2018 DIPG Awareness shirts.

About Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation: Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation is committed to finding a cure for brainstem tumors known as diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG). Nearly every day one child in the United States is diagnosed with DIPG and another child dies from it. The Foundation seeks to make a difference and Defeat DIPG both by raising awareness of DIPG and by providing funding for research into effective treatments for DIPG. Mark and Jenny Mosier created Defeat DIPG Foundation in honor of their 6-year-old son, Michael William Mosier, who bravely battled against DIPG for 8.5 months before passing away on May 17, 2015. When the Mosier family learned of Michael’s diagnosis, it was the first time they heard of “DIPG.” Suddenly, they — like thousands of other families — were forced to face the unimaginable news that their previously healthy, vibrant, energetic little boy would likely have less than a year to live. They are determined to change that outcome for other families.

My 7-year old cousin, Sophia "Bug" Myers, was diagnosed with DIPG on 2/22/17. She is still fighting, but it has robbed her of so much, as it does with every child (and adult!) who battles it. There are so many for which I advocate now!
