About this campaign
National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) envisions a united and vibrant Peace Corps community - one that is mobilized to create social change. To achieve this vision, NPCA champions lifelong commitment to Peace Corps ideals. That means we support all of you - current and returned Peace Corps volunteers, current and former staff, host country nationals, family and friends - in your efforts to create a world that reflects these ideals. NPCA has three specific goals that advance this mission:

Support Teachers’ Around the World
Education has the ability to change a person’s life. Teachers are the key ingredient to education. According to Unesco.org, “UNESCO proclaimed 5 October to be World Teachers’ Day in 1994, a day devoted to appreciating, assessing, and improving the educators of the world.” NPCA will recognize, appreciate, and advocate for teachers in the Peace Corps Community.
A day to celebrate
Around the world, teachers are responsible for preparing students exposing their potential. Through our booster, we recognize Peace Corps Teachers and celebrate the work they have done, and continue to do. Take this opportunity to cheer on teachers throughout the Peace Corps Community and show your support with an NPCA shirt.
\World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to for us to discuss the importance of the role of teachers and where they lack means to support growth in their students. We are surveying our community to determine their teaching concerns.We will use funds from this booster to advocate change to improve teachers ability to do the good work and make a difference educating around the world.

I was in the Peace Corps in Mali '07-'09. I now work as a teacher in inner-city Oakland. Go teachers!
I was also a Peace Corps volunteer teacher
I was a teacher in the peace corp in Tangier, Morocco from 1974 to 1976. It changed the trajectory of my life...and the lives of more than a few of my students.
I was a science and math teacher in the Solomon Islands from 1998-2000 and still currently teach science and participate in peace corps week every year in my school.
Being a teacher gave me insight into the complexity of international education and showed me the importance of exchanging knowledge and skills in my community.
