About this campaign

My name is Cole and I am a college student who uses a power chair. Freshman year I designed this power symbol as I found a new disabled community on campus and grew to embrace my disability. I also learned how this community fights for disabled rights. And so, after running a test batch last year and getting really positive feedback, I present to you: Disability Power T-Shirts to support the National Council of Independent Living. NCIL fights for the right of disabled citizens to live an independent and dignified life, and I am proud to support them.

I am a dedicated staff member at NCIL, and I know firsthand about the important work that we do. I want to play a part in making sure that this work continues, and it can't be accomplished without donations, including this generous campaign.

It's not the disability that's the problem, it's society's attitude and inaccessibility. This must change.

I was Associate Director of the ACLU of Kansas & Western Missouri when the ADA was finally signed into law, and I continue to support disability rights and access through my work as a grant writer.
