Public Hygiene Lets Us Stay Human

PHLUSH is a long-time leader in helping communities learn more about urban toilet availability and design. We crafted the “Public Restroom Design Principles” in response to inquiries from urban planners, architects and designers asking for guidance. We recently compiled our decades of experience and research in advocating and planning public toilets in another notable online resource called the “Public Toilet Advocacy Toolkit.” PHLUSH also collaborates with local governments, citizen groups, alliances, and individuals working on the development of emergency toilet solutions. We see that emergency preparedness is rising to the top of the priority list for those living in earthquake prone regions and for those looking ahead at the impact of climate change. In response to this need, we plan to further develop our resources and expand our services. We need to be ready to answer this call across North America by ensuring our website is engaging, accessible, and technologically advanced.
