Several Park Avenue neighborhood groups and The Landmark Society of WNY have teamed up to raise funds to create a Park Avenue Historic District listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Because the district is so large (about 1600 properties!), the cost to do the extensive research and documentation for a historic district is substantial: about $53,000. To date, we've raised $25,000 in grant funds. We need YOU to help us get the rest of the way. By purchasing a t-shirt, you'll not only be showing your city and neighborhood pride, you'll also help us maintain the character of this historic neighborhood. Ithaca might be Gorges but Park Ave. is Porches! Us Rochesterians love the Park Ave. neighborhood because of its character--the street trees, shops, bars, architecture, and people. The best way to enjoy the neighborhood: soaking it all in on a classic Park Ave porch! You can chat with your neighbors, enjoy an evening drink with your friends, sip your morning coffee, meet passersby, and take in the beauty of the neighborhood. This area deserves to have its history recognized, and these shirts are very slick.
I am president of the Neighborhood of the Arts Neighborhood Association. I believe the city neighborhoods should support one another. And one of my first homes away from my Penfield upbringing was a room at 62 Berkeley Street.
I love living here! Got the white version so I'm more visible walking around here in the evening.
