About this campaign
City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is partnering with Custom Ink and the Angelika Film Center to promote Star Wars: The Last Jedi opening December 14 in the Mosaic District.
Six years ago, three people joined forces to bring one dog from Georgia, where he was just about to be euthanized, to DC, where he was adopted into a loving home within a week. More than 4,000 dogs (and now cats) later, City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is known as the place to go when pet adoption is in view. Here's why. Working closely with high-kill shelters in rural communities with few resources, CDR&CK finds at-risk adoptable dogs and cats and saves their lives. Once an animal is identified, a vast network of Facebook supporters raises funds for transportation to DC and for initial vet exams, vaccinations, and spay/neutering procedures. Upon arrival in DC, the dog or cat has the companionship of a foster care provider and the support of an amazing team of volunteers until a permanent home is found.
In 2016, we spent nearly $450,000 on medical fees alone for our rescue dogs and cats to provide additional injury and illness management, heartworm treatment, surgeries, and cancer treatments. We rely 100% on donations and adoption fees to fund our mission.
The demand for rescue services is huge and so are the rewards. Your support saves a dog or cat's life and brings unconditional love into a home today.

CDR rocks.
We have 3 dogs (rescues), 2 cats (golf course born) , a parrot (garage sale sold) and a beta (named Zika for the program my partner was involved in for DOD)... and this is a great non-profit and ...oh yeah, and cute shirt!
CDR helped us find our newest family member.
