About this campaign

We are having a fundraising and awareness raising event Sunday, June 10th at Finnriver Cidery, a Family Fun Day, to help raise money to bring the first accessible and inclusive playground to Jefferson County. We have plans to build the playground at HJ Carroll Park and once we have the money raised (nearly $300,000) we can break ground and build our playground. We have raised $30,000 or 10% to date.

The Parks and Rec Open Space Plan of East Jefferson County, WA (Port Townsend, Chimacum, Hadlock, Quilcene, Port Ludlow...) has identified the need for more playgrounds as a top priority through the County Parks & Rec dept. Unfortunately, there is no funding to maintain the rundown existing playgrounds, nor any money to build a new one. We want to build a new one, that in addition to being the best playground around, will also be accessible and inclusive for all children to be able to play together. We have the support of Parks & Rec and County government. We have partnered with the Mike Beery Memorial Children's Fund (MBMCF) as our fiscal sponsor in order to accept tax-deductible donations. Now we need your support.
