About this campaign

Let's support our ECS 3rd graders dancing in KUUMBA Day! Order your official KUUMBA Day T-shirt for the whole family, and wear them with pride on January 11th, 2019. This year's beautiful art was custom designed by Issa Sow, owner of ISSYRA African Art Gallery here in Hoboken, NJ, and proud Elysian parent. Graphic design support by Jenifer Semenza (fellow Elysian parent, and Chair of Friends of Elysian) and Nikki Berger, Elysian's very own superstar art teacher!

This year's art was custom designed by Issa Sow, owner of ISSYRA African Art Gallery here in Hoboken, NJ! Issa, also a proud Elysian parent, is truly passionate about art and aims to support and promote African "living art" and artists.
KUUMBA means ‘Creativity‘, encouraging us to do as much as we can, in our own way, to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it. Built on that idea, Jenifer Semenza and Nikki Berger worked collaboratively with Issa to develop this year's art. We are so proud to offer this work of art to our Elysian community and hope everyone shows up wearing this shirt on KUUMBA Day- January 11th, 2019 to show our 3rd graders and entire school how proud we are of this unique Elysian tradition!
