Because representation matters. To support the work of underrepresented scholars in medicine!
I believe in the mission of SNMA and the support of diversity in medicine.
I support black doctors as I too am striving towards this goal.
It's time to put our money towards educating our youth of today, and the SNMA is an important entity I'm achieving this goal.
We need to let the next generation know that there is room for all of us in medicine, and that the health disparities in America can be alleviated by their presence in the field of medicine.
Often times we only use our platforms to fight for change and to discuss the shortcomings that we face. I believe this has deterred minorities away from choosing medicine. It’s okay (and necessary) to take the time to appreciate how far we’ve come!
