About this campaign
Renowned author-illustrator David Macaulay's passion for the SS United States inspired this dazzling tribute to America's Flagship drawn from his new book, "Steam Engines, Fast Ships and a Journey to the New World." By purchasing these limited edition tees, you will help the SS United States Conservancy keep this unique American symbol safely afloat while we tell her story the world over, advance plans for the iconic vessel's revitalization, and build our permanent collection of art and artifacts. Passenger: 1966
No ship like her, ever.
I was a 13 Year US Navy Machinist's Mate. This is heritage, a technological museum, and historic document. Need to preserve. I might even be able to volunteer my services in the Engine Room.
This remarkable ship and national treasure warrants preservation and re-purposing as a monument to all those who helped design, build, maintain and staff her.
Passenger in 1967
Shipboard romance June 1969 en route to Southampton. Summer jobs for 2 college men-Brian Kelly, NJ, served in Vietnam, Bursar’s office; John Osmanski, IL, dentist’s son, elevator. Would love to reconnect. Precious memories of a 15 yr.old.
Our grandchildren have the book now and they should have the special tee shirts to go with it. What a wonderful opportunity to remember and learn
