About this campaign

A portion of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to FirstBook. A portion will go toward purchasing books to donate to other schools, libraries, and classrooms in need.

First Book believes that education is the best way out of poverty for children in need. They provide brand new books and other resources to classrooms and programs serving children in need, from birth to age 18, in order to remove barriers to quality education for all kids. For more information, visit www.firstbook.org or follow them on Facebook, Twitter at @FirstBook and Instagram at @FirstBookOrg.

Jarrett Lerner is the author of EngiNerds and its sequel, Revenge of the EngiNerds, as well as the author of the forthcoming Geeger the Robot early chapter book series and the author-illustrator of the Hunger Heroes graphic novel (all published by Simon & Schuster/Aladdin). He co-founded and helps run the MG Book Village, an online hub for all things Middle Grade, and is the co-organizer of the #KidsNeedBooks and #KidsNeedMentors programs. He can be found at jarrettlerner.com, on Twitter at @JarrettLerner, and on Instragram at @jarrettlerner. He lives in Medford, Massachusetts, with his wife, his daughter, and a cat.

I have loved books and reading my entire life. I am living my dream as an elementary librarian. I love the smile on a child's face when they have a book in their hands and the even bigger smile when that book is being read.

As a school media specialist putting books in kids’ hands is vital, especially if their circumstances make that difficult. I’m thrilled to be a part of such an important initiative.
