Wimberley Pride I Was There T-Shirts

The very first Wimberley Pride March was held on September 21, 2019. The official march count was 671 with hundreds more lining the streets in support. The march proceeded through the Wimberley Square and the event continued to several after-parties produced by local businesses. All agreed it was a beautiful and festive evening in this small Texas town.

The idea of a Pride March in Wimberley began May 3rd, 2018 with a simple post in a Facebook group. That post generated much excitement – on all sides of the debate. 360 comments were racked up in a matter of hours. Excitement indeed!

Since then, much has happened. A founding committee began work last year, and we have been delighted with the mostly positive reception to the plans for the first Wimberley Pride March. We have also been given the opportunity to hear some comments from those who have been less positive about the plans. But those people have so far been in the minority. However, all in Wimberley can learn from this endeavor, so we listen with respect, as we expect others to do to the LGBTQ community in Wimberley.http://wimberleypride.org/
