About this campaign
“... accomplish by love, what justice alone cannot do.”
— Blessed Frédéric Ozanam
Young Adult Vincentians feel connected to Blessed Frederic in the fact that he was a young adult when he started the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. This is how we are trying to help support the Mosaic Campaign. Our goal is to be able to make a $1000 contribution to helping fund the Blessed Frederic Ozanam Mosaic at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, that will be being dedicated on January 26, 2020 in Washington, DC.
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (the
Shrine) is the largest Marian shrine in the Western hemisphere, located on the
Catholic University of American campus in Washington, DC. The massive
structure is known as: The largest Roman Catholic Church in North America. One of the ten largest Catholic Churches in the world. The world's largest collection of ecclesiastical art. Brilliant mosaics, stained glass windows, and polished stone carvings
throughout its more than 80 chapels and oratories.
Within is the Vincentian Chapel, featuring St. Vincent and St. Louise de
Marillac statues, as well as one dedicated to the Miraculous Medal. It is in
this chapel Blessed Antoine Frederic Ozanam will be enshrined by
permanently mounting this beautiful mosaic. (see graphic to the left)
This artist's rendering has just been authorized for a permanent installation in
the Vincentian chapel. The mosaic artwork depicts our Society's founder
Blessed Antoine Frederic Ozanam. The Society has agreed to raise funds for
the mosaic art and its installation, along with a celebratory Mass and reception
on January 26, 2020. All in time for the 175th anniversary celebration!
Please consider giving to this exceptional recognition of our founder, where
millions of visitors will see it for many years to come! What a wonderful
opportunity for the Society!

I support your goal and St Vincent de Paul
I am thankful and believe in all of the AWESOME work by our Vincentian!
Everybody knows St Vincent's name, as well they should but almost nobody knows the name of Bl. Frederick who is responsible for our great organization. We need to get Frederick acknowledged and sainted.
To live the Vincentian charism one supports our Society through your grace of presence, gifts and generosity.
As a young Vincentian, I'm inspired by the example of Bl. Frederic and am really excited about this mosaic!
When I was in the Army I was stationed in DC. I visited the basilica many times. It is beautiful. At one Mass I had my High School CCD class. Four of my students got to bring up the gifts. Mother Theresa was present.
