“FDNY EMT John Mondello tragically passed away on April 24th, 2020. He was a part of the last trainee class, Bravo 19-01 Squad 5. In his time in the academy, the shy, lovable kid really became a class favorite. He gave 110% in everything he did. Whether it is was memorizing the agonizing Declaration of Geneva, yelling at the top of his lungs the count on deck, and his participation in PT. All given 110% all the time.
John loved his new FDNY family he made in the academy, and was a favorite of all the DIs. The stories we have with him are countless. He rolled with the punches and earning his Asst squad leader pin, was a highlight of a time at the academy. John will be missed by us all.
