Philly Youth COVID-19 Fundraiser

If you’ve ever had the privilege of traveling abroad, you already know how transformative international travel can be. For inner-city teens who have never left Philadelphia’s boundaries, this kind of travel outside of their comfort zone can have a profound impact, resetting the course of their lives for the better.

At Philly Youth, we’ve been working with our city’s most vulnerable and at-risk teens, empowering and inspiring them to reach their fullest potential. Philly Youth is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization founded to eliminate the negative stereotypes surrounding inner-city youth by shining a light on the inspiring young people in our community. We accomplish this by seeking out our city’s hidden gems and posting their accomplishments on our social media pages.

Now, we want to present at-risk, low-income youth under the age of 21 with the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to travel to Costa Rica for a 9-day educational tour in July of 2021. The trip will be organized through EF Educational Tours (.eftours.com), an accredited school that for more than 50 years has helped millions of young people get out of their comfort zones and expand their horizons through educational travel experiences.

Each day of our tour will be educational, exposing our young travelers to new ideas and experiences. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to earn high school or college credit. The cost for each young person to attend the tour is $2,770; this includes all expenses (flights, hotels, and meals).

Given that this trip is geared toward youth from low-income families, we are turning to our generous community to help give these young people an opportunity to experience exponential personal growth through foreign travel.
