About this campaign

"Try to be the rainbow in someone else's cloud." - Maya Angelou

Support the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Contra Costa County by wearing one of these stylish trucker hats on all of your summer adventures. Show the world how you are makin' rainbows despite the current cloudy state of things! Consider paying it forward by purchasing for family and friends too. It's a great way to protect your family and friends while helping protect children in our community.

The Child Abuse Prevention Council was founded in 1984 with one mission: to prevent child abuse in Contra Costa County. CAPC works toward this goal by providing support and education to children and families and by raising awareness about the issue of child abuse and neglect in our community.

Due to COVID-19 many parents are out of work and their children are at home, without access to mandated reporters like teachers. Research shows that during such stressful times child abuse rates can increase dramatically. CAPC is staying in touch with high-risk families and providing them with support and basic needs. But without the funds from our canceled annual benefit luncheon in April and from a second annual fundraiser in August, CAPC is having to burn through its reserve funds to continue supporting these families and children through this devastating time. Please consider purchasing a hat for you and your friends/family members to help support CAPC in the fight against child abuse.
