About this campaign

In the mist of a global pandemic that Philadelphia sanitation department finds itself in a shortage of PPE and cleaning supplies, this fundraiser is going to support purchasing adequate PPE and cleaning supplies across the whole department.

As a sanitation worker during a pandemic I place my life on the line every single day, Without adequate PPE and cleaning supplies it makes my job very difficult. If I feel like this, I know my coworker do, so I want to use this as a way for us to support ourselves and to purchase PPE ourselves to make sure that we are always in a safe and clean work environment.

Sanitation workers are under appreciated and the lack of PPE provided is dehumanizing. This campaign is wonderful and I wish that it was unnecessary to have to raise money for this cause, as sanitation workers should have the necessary PPE.

It’s unreal that one of the most important jobs for a functioning society is being forced to buy their own PPE. It’s unacceptable. We should hold their employers accountable, and meanwhile crowdsource help for them for those who can.
