About this campaign

Bridge: 1. something that is intended to reconcile or form a connection between two things.

Barrier: 2. a fence or other obstacle that prevents movement or access.

“Beer is the vehicle driving us across the bridge to connect with others and change our community” - Eugenia Brown, Beer Chick LLC.

In thinking of ways to further bridge the gap between those in the industry, and those that desire to be, I’ve decided to help 50 minority women achieve Cicerone Level 1 Certified Beer Server status.

I hope to accomplish this by:

1. Using the funds raised from these t-shirt sales to purchase the $69.00 exam.
2. Offering support and study resources.

While this effort won’t “solve” all the issues we have in the craft beer industry, it will continue to support my belief that beer education should be accessible to everyone.

My hope is that by helping minority women achieve Cicerone Level 1 Certified Beer Server, I can help better prepare them for jobs in the beer industry, while also increasing their overall beer knowledge.

All funds will be offered on a “first come basis”, and once the funds have been received, they will go directly to the individual women for purchase of the exam.

Certified Beer Server Overview:

Great beer service begins with the fundamentals: beer clean glassware, a proper pour, and beer that hasn’t been ruined by improper handling. When properly executed, these elements showcase the beer as the brewer intended. And in today’s beer world, every dialog between server and guest begins with talk of beer styles and flavors. The Cicerone Certified Beer Server exam assesses these skills to recognize those individuals who are best prepared to sell or serve a wide range of beers.

I’m supporting this campaign because I’m a woman that works in beer and I do not want barriers to stand between more women joining us! It isn’t easy for us and it’s harder for others and it simply should. Not. Be. With you in love and fine beer 100%!

Because I am a woman and the ONLY Black Brewers and very few black humans in this craft beer industry in Alaska... I’m doing my part everyday to make a difference for us all and pave a path for others beside me.

Women helping women is always something worth supporting! Especially when it’s helping them get a leg up in a traditionally male dominated industry!

I think this is an awesome idea to help with jobs and beer always brings people together. Found out about this through my daughter Mandy and we would love to pay for someone to take the test.
