About this campaign

Once upon a time, a young Ray Bradbury visited the Waukegan Public Library and fell in love with books – a love that led to his lifelong career as a writer. This year we will honor Ray’s 100th birthday by raising funds to support the Waukegan Public Library and inspire the next visionaries from Waukegan. Want to help? Purchase a t-shirt!

Ray Bradbury instilled in me a love for words and for Green Town. This year will be my 40th year of teaching. This morning, with my eyes fixed upon Mars as it settled itself in the western sky, I smiled: "Happy birthday, Ray. And thank you."

Ray Bradbury's writing has brought me so much joy and delight -- ever since I discovered a copy of Dandelion Wine on the library shelves when I was in ninth grade. Waukegan can be proud of their native son!
