About this campaign

This fundraiser was started by Jenny Fischer in September 2020 for Suicide Prevention Awareness (Month) and to donate the proceeds to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The quote "Keep Showing Up" is meant to serve as a reminder that some days it'll feel like you're born to do this, others it'll feel like you're trudging through hell; no matter what, keep showing up, seeing what you've got and giving it your best shot. Keep showing up for yourself, for others, for what you love and what loves you. Keep Showing Up.

Jenny Fischer lost her mother to suicide in December 2010, meaning it's coming up on the 10 Year Anniversary. She also lost her grandpa to suicide in July 2016. Suicide is 100% preventable – and one of the key components to combating this tragedy is spreading awareness, sharing our stories and continuing to keep showing up.

As an Athletic Trainer, mental health is so important! I recently had an athlete hospitalized for suicidal thoughts. She is getting the helps she needs right now, but mental health is real and we need to end the stigma and that’s it’s ok to not be ok

The impact suicide has had on: 1. My athletes’ lives (I’m a Division 2 College Football Coach) 2. My own family The importance of intentionally making sure you’re physically and emotionally there for the people you care about.
