About this campaign
Please help me support the Ulman Foundation and the Ulman House by making a contribution to our fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will advance the Ulman Foundation 's great cause!
The Annual Charm City Strongwoman Contest is held in memory of my sister, Charlotte Giza. All proceeds from the contest go to the Ulman Foundation, a local organization that helped Charlotte live her life to the fullest before she lost her battle with cancer in 2015. This contest is for Charlotte and a tribute to strong women everywhere.
From the time of her initial diagnosis, Charlotte leaned on the support and encouragement of two Baltimore-area charitable organizations: the Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation and the Ulman Foundation. Inspired by her fight, I made it my mission to raise money for these organizations that meant so much to her.
In 2012, Fivex3 Training hosted its first Charm City Strongwoman Contest as a fundraiser for the Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation. Following the death of that organization’s founder and chairman, David Cohan, in 2017, and its subsequent dissolution, I redirected the fundraising efforts of the contest last year to benefit the Ulman Foundation, which is dedicated to providing support specifically for young people with cancer and their families.
I committed to a five-year fundraising goal of $100,000 ($20,000 per year) for the Ulman House. Located in East Baltimore, just blocks from Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Ulman House, which opened this past January, offers beautiful, comfortable living spaces for young adults who are in Baltimore for cancer treatment. These young patients, along with their caregivers, are able to stay in one of nine private suites while enjoying group and individual programming including art therapy, physical exercise, meditation, home cooked meals, support groups, and an incredible music room.
Last year was a great first step toward reaching our goal, as the contest raised over $20,000. That brought our total fundraising amount in the contest’s seven-year history close to $90,000, which I am incredibly proud of.
Together, we can make a difference!

I have much admiration for Emily and her dedication to honoring Charlotte’s legacy. This will be the first time in many years that I don’t participate in or volunteer for the event. Wishing you all success!
May you always go from Strength To Strength
