About this campaign

Join us for the second annual Stepping to Recovery Virtual Fundraiser Walk sponsored by the Culture of Recovery Program at the Appalachian Artisan Center. This year's shirt design was created by the program graduate, George Adams, who is a budding graphic designer. We raised over $800 last year to benefit the Knott County Drug Court and Hickory Hills Recovery Center. This year, all of the proceeds with help fund the art supply fund for our new after school art program, Family Fun Art Exploration. This new after school program's mission is to practice holistic healing by providing free art classes each week, inviting community families to engage in fun and exciting art workshops. Your contribution will provide much needed art supplies to keep the workshops free to all members of the community. The workshops are supported by Berea College Art Fund and Operation UNITE. Together, we heal, together we grow!

Addressing the rise of substance abuse disorders, the “ Culture of Recovery” (COR) Project at the Appalachian Artisan Center partners with the residential Hickory Hill Recovery Center and the Knott County Drug Court to forge a path forward for those in recovery through creativity, supplementing existing treatments with opportunities for skill building in the arts.
