About this campaign

K-9 Kait and the Chelan County Regional Justice Center K-9 Program is primarily funded through grants, fundraisers, donations, and community support. This years theme highlights that fact K-9 Kait, Deputy Lewis and the community that supports them are on the same mission. Without the support of the community, Team Kait would not be successful. The money raised helps fund additional training, equipment upkeep, supplies, general care for Kait, and emergency medical care (if needed). For more information on CCRJC's K-9 Program, K-9 Kait, or other ways you can help; Contact Deputy Jacob Lewis at Jacob.Lewis@co.chelan.wa.us.

Deputy Jacob Lewis and K-9 Kait are trained in narcotics detection for the Chelan County Regional Jail. K-9 Kait is the first canine in the jail's history, and the second canine in the State of Washington assigned to a county or municipal jail. K-9 Kait's unique sniffing ability and trained odors also allows her to assist with drug detection for federal agencies and local schools.
K-9 Kait is a 6 year old border collie that originated from a rescue in Quincy, Wa. K-9 Kait went on to serve Tulalip PD for 2 years. After her previous handler moved on, K-9 Kait was returned to the training facility were she was paired with Deputy Lewis. When off-duty, K-9 Kait enjoys living with Deputy Lewis and his family, going on outdoor adventures and just lounging around her home.kaitjpg
