About this campaign

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Sumter High School's IB students invite you to help us support Sumter’s YWCA Women’s Shelter. Covid has made their needs even greater. Many victims seeking to escape domestic abuse are being housed in motels because the shelter is at capacity. In addition, these victims need food, toiletries, and sometimes clothes.

For over a decade, Sumter High's International Baccalaureate students have organized the Walk Against Domestic Violence to support our local YWCA. This year, in light of Covid, we decided to sell "Stop the Violence" hoodies to raise awareness and funds for Sumter's YWCA Women's Shelter.
