About this campaign

Neurodiversity is the biological fact that there are infinite naturally occurring variations of the human brain. Neurodivergent is a term that describes a person whose brain functions outside of what is considered typical by our society at large. Examples of neurodivergent minds include those with autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, behavioral disabilities, anxiety, depression and more. Neurodivergent people should be accepted and respected in all spaces, just as they are. It should be recognized that it can be difficult for neurodivergent people to function in a society that is designed for the neurotypical brain. Neurodivergent people may need, and are entitled to, accommodations, supports, and specialized services to thrive in our society and our schools. By educating ourselves on the many variations of the human brain, we can move toward understanding, accepting, and celebrating the beautifully and uniquely neurodiverse population of the Haddon Heights School District.

This t-shirt was designed by an amazing artist, Lance Bannister, of the Haddon Heights REACH+ Program. Join us in celebrating our neurodiverse school community.
