Raising Money to start a NYC public school team in Mat Levine's name!

Please don't tell Mat, but we are raising money to establish a CityLax Middle School team in Mat Levine's name to honor his decades-long contribution to the New York community through lacrosse, and his sheer love of the game. Doc's lacrosse and CityLax were both founded by Mat Levine. CityLax lacrosse is the tool, and investing in student-athletes is the goal. They partner with New York City Schools to give student-athletes a platform to study, connect with teammates and provide life lessons. Through lacrosse, CItyLax show's students a variety of future opportunities and a chance to go to college. For the last 16 years CityLax has provided programming year-round to engage youth and enhance their skills in lacrosse and life. It also provides “off the field” programming such as: SAT tutoring, college counseling, application essay writing, volunteer mentorship and CityLax online dialogues, where students are mentored by other lacrosse players of color. With over 70 school partners and over 3000 students in New York City now playing lacrosse through CityLax, it is the largest urban lacrosse program in the country. With the help of some amazing donors and volunteers they are making a difference, “One ground ball at a time.”
