Cupcake & Me, 2023

When I was 9 I didn't make the little britches finals. So, l asked my mom and dad to take me to the finals so I could see what it took to win barrels and poles and be a world champion.

They were running 19 second pole runs and fast barrels. I told them I wanted a horse I could win on. They knew one already running those times would be too expensive and didn't think I could finish a young one. But, they looked anyway. We left there and drove to look at a 4 year old mare RJL Can't Keep this Girl "Cupcake" They didn't think I would be able to ride her because she was only 4. She was strong but I wasn't scared and I wanted her.


She felt perfect. I begged, and they made it work in order to get her. The first few weekends weren't the greatest as we learned each other. But, it didn't take long before we figured each other out. My fastest time on her in poles is a 19.2 and an arena record of a 19.4 at Branaham's arena in Scottsville Ky. We still want to win the world in Poles at NLBRA. We have gone on to be first in Jr High state (barrels and poles) and have won the world 2x in barrels at NLBRA.


Cupcake was then, and is still my best friend. I’m so thankful we found each other.
