Celebrating 24 years of finding quality homes for abandoned / surrendered purebred cats!
Our mission is to use our specialized knowledge of cat breeds to provide an appropriate foster alternative for homeless purebred cats and kittens whose special requirements are difficult to meet in a shelter environment, in addition to helping as many special needs domestic cats as our resources allow.
Our goal is to provide the best match between cats and their adoptive families and to place as many purebred and special needs cats as possible into loving homes.
*About Us: Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1999. We specialize in finding quality homes for abandoned/surrendered purebred cats. We are the largest rescue organization of its kind in the Midwest and we are well known and respected throughout the animal shelter community.
Our group is composed of wonderful foster volunteers who generously open their homes and hearts to abandoned and abused purebred cats. Our volunteers work hard to find homes for these felines. We are capable of fostering over 100 cats at one time, spread among the group. However, we always have a considerable waiting list of cats that need to come into our limited foster space. Cats are kept in homes in their own rooms and are given the best of care.
Foster homes are located in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, eastern Iowa, southern Michigan, Minnesota and Tennessee. Cats are seen by appointment only after an adoption application has been submitted and approved.
*Adoption fees determined by age of the cat and discounts will be provided for health or special needs. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, feline leukemia/FIV testing, distemper vaccination, microchipping, deworming, flea-free, grooming, temperament testing and often full dental cleanings. Older cats may have had blood panels to assure health.

My beautiful Persians are SPCR alumni. I love this rescue.
SPCR takes the proper amount of time, patience and love for each and every kitty that goes through their rescue. The dedication and hard work from all of the volunteers is commendable and appreciated!!
My hubby and I have been volunteers for SPCR since 2011. We love the organization and it's cause.
Can’t wait to wear this in a transport! I love supporting SPCR!
I adopted a very special kitty from SPCR in 2004 and I will always remember this group who brought me the sweetest baby. I have also been volunteering here since 2021.
