About this campaign
The proceeds from this breast cancer walk
will be donated to the McLeod Pink Out program. This program helps pay for
mammograms for people that can't afford them.
On June 19, 2022, Father's Day, I lost my father to prostate
cancer. Shortly after returning home to South Carolina, I was
experiencing pain in my breast. I made an appointment with my GYN. I was
shocked to learn that prostate cancer is the brother to breast cancer.
Unfortunately, Cancer is very prevalent in my family, therefore; she
suggested genetic testing. My test results determined that I have a 27%
greater chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer than the average person.
I now have two mammograms and two MRI's a year. Thank God for early
detection options. My goal is to spread the importance of early detection
and the option for genetic testing.
