About this campaign
Every year, the Port Townsend School of Woodworking hosts more than 650 students – complete beginners to experienced woodworkers – from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Last year, PTSW awarded $50,000 in scholarships to support students to be able to experiencing the joy of woodworking. Your financial support of PTSW advances its mission of providing a diverse, safe, and excellent woodworking education to all.
What kind of effect can a woodworking education have? A student recently told us, "In our digitally-focused world, it’s easy to forget the deep satisfaction that comes from working with our hands. My week at PTSW reawakened my connection to craftsmanship, focus, and the simple power of creating something real from wood."
With our classes consistently reaching 90% enrollment, it’s clear that the desire to learn woodworking is stronger than ever. This growing demand is both inspiring and humbling — and it challenges us to expand our reach and resources. Your support makes that possible. By giving to PTSW, you help us welcome more students, enhance our programs, and ensure that the tradition of woodworking continues to thrive. https://www.ptwoodschool.org

As a Quileute citizen, I was able to build connections to my cultural practice and with my community by working with the instructors of the Indigenous carving courses. Thanks to PTSW for the scholarship support and space to do that work.
