About this campaign
For the first time in history, a Metlakatla student has qualified for the National Speech & Debate Championship! You can help send recent MHS graduate Evyn V. to Nationals by supporting this fundraising campaign. The 2026 National Speech & Debate Association Championship will be held in Richmond Virginia.
The sweatshirts feature artwork created by recent MHS graduate Elizabeth A. The design depicts a "supernatural creature" with three heads, representing the "three heads" of Drama, Debate & Forensics competition.
The sweatshirts also feature the phrase "Ts'uusga Da'al Gaaka," the Smalgyax translation of our team motto "small but mighty."
The translation for this phrase was provided by MHS's cultural studies teacher Gamaas Bolton.
