About this campaign

Amalia had a severe stroke a few months ago. Her husband, Dustin, was in Afghanistan when it happened and made it back after she almost lost her life during 3 brain surgeries. Please help this wonderful family and purchase a "Miles for Amalia" T-shirt today!

All raised funds will go to Amalia to defray medical costs.

Please contact Jennifer Marple with any questions you have.

Shirts will be delivered approximately 2 weeks after the close date.

We often read and hear people say how they "support our troops." Sure, in the early years of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, there was mass media attention devoted to this, but as the years have gone by, we still believe there are people who truly mean it when they say they believe those on the front lines, those who signed up to protect our great country, are still worthy of support. There are those who think our military deserves the utmost respect, their absolute support. Well, the Schocken family needs your support now. Amalia had a severe stroke a few months ago. Her husband, Dustin, was in Afghanistan when it happened and made it back after she almost lost her life during 3 brain surgeries. Anyone who knows Amalia knows that she's a fighter. Amalia has a zest for life, an incredible energy that reaches so many people. She is home now, because the military insurance will no longer allow her to stay in the aggressive rehab facility. Dustin has transformed their house into a safe environment for Amalia, and has taken on the caregiver role. This page is dedicated to raising funds for this family. Please, if you can give to them, we promise it is a cause worth contributing to.

On October 12th, 2013, we are asking everyone around the globe to walk/run a 5K in support for Amalia and her family. On this day we ask that you wear your shirt to show the support. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to the Shocken Family. So please show your support by ordering a shirt, and donating to this wonderful Marine Corps family.
