Publisher Sandy Lender wants to use In Your Flock companion parrot magazine to raise funds for Avian Bornavirus and PDD research. You can help researchers identify which strains of ABV may or may not progress to PDD; help us learn and report best husbandry practices.
In Your Flock companion parrot magazine launched at a time when one of the darling parrots at the headquarters office was going through a frightening diagnosis of Proventricular Dilatation Disease. When sweet Ernie the Eclectus died in Publisher Sandy Lender's arms, she chose to share his story in the magazine. With information from avian veterinarians and researchers leading the way in ABV and PDD testing, she shared the most current knowledge with readers and has been looking for a way to do more. By purchasing one of these adorable t-shirts for yourself or friends, you help with two missions. Half of the proceeds go to assist in magazine production costs, bringing more education to more parrot owners. Half of the proceeds go to Dr. Laurie Hess of the Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics in Bedford Hills, New York, and her research work this summer.
