About this campaign

The Manilatown Heritage Foundation and the International Hotel Center needs your help! Our soon to be launched Klick on a Brick Storytelling and Creative Writing program will be launching in December 2014 to encourage community members to tell their own heartfelt stories about the International Hotel and San Francisco's historic Manilatown district. Your donation of $50 will provide a student with creative writing support, the presentation of their story at our January 2015 Open House and their story forever included on our website as one of the virtual storytelling "bricks" that continues to build the ongoing story of the International Hotel legacy. 

The Manilatown Heritage Foundation was founded in 2003 to preserve the legacy of the historic Manilatown district of San Francisco and to commemorate the 1977 International Hotel Eviction. It currently produces family-friendly, working-class affordable educational programs in the areas of Historic Manilatown History & Legacy, Arts & Culture,  Health & Wellness, Community Advocacy and Youth Empowerment. Klick on a Brick will be one of our History & Legacy programs, focusing on history of and by the people.

The Tiger Logo Shirt is our Thank You Gift to you for supporting this very special program. Originally used in the 1970s as a symbol of community solidarity around the International Hotel Eviction Protest, we are bringing back this beloved iconic symbol not only to thank you for your support but to also celebrate the physical home of the Klick on a Brick program: The International Hotel Manilatown Center at 868 Kearny Street in San Francisco CA.
