Our sweet baby boy has been diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. While this diagnosis has been difficult to navigate. Brady and I are determined to give Miles the best possible chance at living a life full of opportunities and some independence - whatever that may look like for him. Starting now is crucial to ensure Miles has the best outcomes for his life ahead.
DMI stands for Dynamic Movement Intervention, it is a intensive therapy designed to help children with different neurological disorders, including cerebral palsy, improve motor skills, strength and coordination.
DMI intensive therapy focuses on neuroplasticity -- which is the brains ability to form new neural connections by using specific exercises and movements to encourage the development of postural control, balance, and mobility.
DMI can benefits Miles' by improving core strength and postural control, enhancing coordination and movement, promoting functional independence for years ahead, and most importantly encouraging brain and body connections to improve motor learning.
DMI Intensive Therapy is not covered by insurance and comes with a big cost, including travel expenses as there is none in Delaware, expenses to cover time off work, and expenses to cover the cost of the therapy itself, money raised will be put aside for that.
