Mounted Units Past SchooljpgThe Rockland County Sheriff's Mounted Unit needs your help! Due to the current economic climate and the tightening of municipal budgets, the Mounted Unit is no longer being funded by the County. The Mounted Unit has been in existence since 1962 and wants to continue to provide the citizens of Rockland County with the service and security they deserve. The "Mounted Police Foundation of Rockland County" was established to help continue this great legacy.

The mounted unit for having such large animals. Is relatively unseen huge part in the Saftey and Protection of Rockland County. To disban this unit puts all of Rockland in danger. SAVE THE MOUNTED UNIT!!

The mounted unit participates in many community policing events and demonstrations around the county which helps foster understanding and cooperation with the public. The Mounted unit also provides an extra layer of security for the local agencies
