Bob Foster Muskathlon Kenya 2015 For Compassion International

This is our family, the Fosters. Bob, Angel, Caitlyn, Riley, Cooper, Jackson Blue and Lincoln. We are an imperfect family trying our best to follow God's path for our lives.

     Bob is my husband, their father and the spiritual leader of our family. Earlier this year he left for a "camping trip" in the Red River Gorge in Kentucky with several men from our church and the 4th Musketeer. When he returned, I have to say, it was apparent God had moved in big ways for him and the other men. Their camping trip had been anything but camping and something he described as a physical journey to a spiritual destination. He has not been the same since and he has lead me and our children to trust the Lord and step out even further in our faith.

      Through the 4th Musketeer (4M) we learned about Compassion International. Compassion International is a Christian child sponsorship organization dedicated to the long-term development of children living in poverty around the world. Through Compassion we began sponsoring extreme poverty stricken children in Africa. While that is a great thing and we love the correspondence and knowing that we are making a difference for a few children, we were compelled to do more. In other words, God has been speaking to us, screaming to us, we can and should do more.

      After returning from a second trip to the Red River Gorge with 4M he was asked to become involved in something called a Muskathlon in Kenya in May 2015. A Muskathlon is an ultimate endurance challenge, akin to a triathlon, set in extreme locations with a purpose of raising significant funds for causes of righteousness and justice worldwide.  He is the first and at this time the only American  muskathlete out of hundreds to be part of this unique opportunity in Kenya and will be running a 60k to release children from poverty in the name of Jesus Christ. 

        In order to be a part of this journey, he has financial commitments that he must complete first. He is expected to get 10 children sponsored through Compassion or he  must raise 10k to provide Compassion for these children. We also must pay for all of the travel costs associated with the trip and a $1490 entry fee. Any money left over after travel and entry fee will go directly to Compassion International. 

        Our burden is not only financial but Bob and I own a business in which we are the sole employees. I must run our business and take care of our 5 children while he is gone. So above anything financial, I am asking you to add our family to your prayers. Pray for success and peace and above all that the Good News of Jesus Christ is spread by all of these amazing athletes from all over the world who are giving their time, money and hearts to be broken for God. Pray for all of their families as well. Pray for safe travel and return for all of them. Pray for the families and children in these lands that not only hunger and thirst for food but hunger and thirst for a Savior they do not yet know.  

  I encourageyou allo research extreme poverty.  You cannot imagine the conditions until you see them.
