About this campaign

Want to declare your membership in MWEG loud and proud? Looking for something to wear when you're meeting your Congressional reps or marching for your favorite cause? Buy this MWEG Superhero shirt and the small profit we make on each shirt will help support the mission of MWEG.

This t-shirt features a female superhero standing atop a building as she sees MWEG in a spotlight over the city skyline. The MWEG logo is shown as a billboard. After someone pointed out that we've started getting shout-outs on social media with one person tagging us about another deportation case and saying "we need to get Mormon Women for Ethical Government involved," MWEG designers thought about superheroes like Batman (seeing the Bat signal) and Superman and answering the call for help in the community. And that's how the MWEG superhero shirt was born. It's a fitting analogy for our group. Each of us, in our own small way, is becoming a superhero. We're answering the call to fight injustice in our government and striving to help our community.

The logo for MWEG was designed to reflect our commitment to peacefully defend & promote the ethical governing of the United States of America. The torch is inspired by the one held by the Statue of Liberty & is a symbol of freedom & enlightenment. The dove is symbolic of peace & our dedication to promote change through non-violent resistance. The color purple was chosen for its symbolism of justice, truth, femininity, and royalty (since we all have the potential to be crowned queens and priestesses).

As MWEG continues to grow, so will our financial needs. Not only will we require funds to cover the day-to-day expenses--stamps, staples, software--we will need money to produce signs for rallies, assist immigrants that are threatened with unethical deportation, sponsor educational forums, help refugees, or support marginalized communities. Money will allow us to provide scholarships for women/girls interested in ethical government, present programs to train women in effective civic engagement, purchase technology to allow us to be more efficient, and produce conferences and workshops in a variety of subjects. We will need money to accomplish our goals as MWEG.
