About this campaign

We are fundraising to cover expenses of a web site that our grassroots based Black Wellness Collaborative (B-Well) is launching, in addition to online workshops, that promote public education and awareness around the importance of Black Mental Health. We will share local resources, education, and opportunities around wellness and health for the Black community. This is critical, especially today, during a pandemic and time of tensions around national uprisings in response to killings of Black people around the US. This shirt was designed to celebrate Long Beach's Health Officer, Dr. A. Davis (see https://lbpost.com/hi-lo/addison-coronavirus-covid-racism-civil-unrest-dr-anissa-davis-public-health), and other health professionals like her--Black women leading the way on the frontlines, during the pandemic, and over our long history of generations of struggle. Please do support this effort however you can, and "B Well"!

We are often our own sanctuary. Now is the time for radical self-care and compassion in and for our Black community.

Our Black Wellness Collaborative aims to:

Put healing back in our hands;

Validate Black healing practitioners and practices, as well as community care workers;

Center Black health needs in local and regional conversations and decision-making;

Advocate for funding Black health and healing work, including holistic approaches; and Build awareness and knowledge around great mental health in the Black community.

This shirt was designed by M. Morgan of www.allthingsblack.us, after hearing a similar message shared on social media. All proceeds will be donated to the B-Well collaborative (we estimate we will receive about $7/shirt sold). If you prefer to make a direct donation instead of purchasing a shirt, please visit www.gofundme.com/f/allthingsblackhealth. At least 10 shirts must be sold on customink.com in order for shirts to be printed.
