About this campaign

Nick is one of the nicest humans I have had a chance to know, and for 50 years, he carried the burden of the photograph known as “The Terror of War.” The Vietnam War changed countless Vietnamese and American lives, and the image is burned into our collective consciousness. The photograph is one of the most important in history, as it changed the world and the war and was instrumental in ending it. The personal bond between Nick and Kim Phuc, the young child in the photograph, continues to this day. We do not always know the cost when we make images that resonate with the world. Nick has owned this for 50 years, and I stand with him. RAS

Nick Ut won the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for his historic photo 'Terror of War" showing Kim Phuc running down the road from her village of Trang Bang after being napalmed. Nick later saved her life by transporting her and other kids to a hospital in Cu Chi.

A film called "The Stringer" defames Nick by saying that someone else took the photo. All funds will go to the pursuit of a defamation claim against the filmmakers. The producers of the film say they are seeking the truth. The truth is they slandered Nick Ut.

Because Nick took the picture and deserves the credit .

Someone must stand up for what's right. Photojournalist try to give the public a choice: see, and make a decision. Nick had done that, and the lives of many people are better for it.
