About this campaign

No Menthol Sunday (NMS) is The Center for Black Health & Equity's annual call to action to highlight the detrimental impact of commercial menthol tobacco products.

“We Are the Movement” reminds us that we have all we need to achieve a tobacco-free future. Leadership of this movement exists in all of us.

Purchasing this limited edition NMS shirt shows your commitment to the movement and supports The Center's capacity building and community investment efforts.

The Center for Black Health & Equity is a leading nationally recognized public health entity that provides solutions to issues impacting African American health. We engage health care organizations, public health officials, faith leaders, and African American communities in health promotion and disease prevention work.

Our mission is to facilitate programs and services to benefit communities and people of African descent. We do this by building community capacity, developing community infrastructure, and advocating for equity-centered policies. We are committed to addressing the social and economic injustices that have marginalized our communities and led to deep health disparities.

Tobacco use kills. Second hand smoke kills those who did not choose to use tobacco. Too many people ignore or do not know that big corporations targeted Black folks to use menthol-flavored tobacco products.

I support the no menthol campaign because it helps protect our communities from the harmful and targeted marketing of menthol tobacco products and promotes healthier futures for our families and youth

Saving Black lives is an imperative that The Center for Black Health embraces every day, and our communities are stronger because of that commitment. Menthol kills, and a ban on flavored tobacco is a fight worth winning.

Because No Menthol Sunday addresses the disproportionate harm caused by the tobacco industry’s targeted menthol marketing in African American communities and underscores the need to reduce tobacco‑related disease and support quitting.
