About this campaign

Please visit baskingridgeoaktree.org for more information related to the tree's history created by the Historical Society of the Somerset Hills.

A design contest was held at William Annin Middle School and a sixth grade student's design was ultimately selected by the Oak Tree Task Force. This unique, hand drawn design created by Hannah Shen did an excellent job of capturing the spirit of the tree.

I have lived in the community for a good part of my live, within walking distance of this tree. I am very grateful that the church community worked so hard to preserve the tree for all the years of its life. This is my way to say thank you.

I grew up in Basking Ridge and the tree was a very important connection to both the past and nature and I'm proud to come from a community that values each of these.

I support this campaign because I have lived here since 1972. The tree is a symbol of Basking Ridge, and the wonderful people that live here. My son went to school here, and has made a great life for himself, thanks to the great teachers here.
